Learning and improving my chess skill.

The first thing that i did is buying myself a chess software. Ofcourse i also bought chess books before but they are all supplement or rather additional reading material. After taking a sneak preview of Fritz10 and at that time there will be a tournament between Deep Fritz and Kramnik, i decided to purchase the software.

Why chess software? Fritz10 can help me analyse my positions, current status of the game whether i'm winning or losing and even checking my blunder. I think it's very essential to every chess players to have chess software nowadays. This is expensive but i take it as an investment.

Ok i got my Fritz10. I forgot to mention there are also chess tutors bundle inside the CD. So u get to learn some of openings, endings, tactics and watching interview of great chess players. These 'free' tutors had great impact on me as i never had any chess class before. I even didn't know names of chess opening before then!

I also got my 1 year Playchess subscription. So i play there whenever i got the time. People there mostly are good chess players. And that is a good place to practise chess. Sadly, my graph is showing bearish patent and we'll see in the next couple of weeks if i can turn around the course.

Currently, i downloaded demo from Chess Mentor 3. It's fantastic after i gone thru the lessons. I'm thinking of buying it but again it's expensive (atleast to me). So, i try to finish all the lessons before i gave my conclusion. Right now, i really learn lots of new things and the knowledge that i received is fantastic!

That's how in this internet age, we should take advantage of it. I read somewhere that learning using the computer will make you learn 8 times faster. That's why you got this 13 years old Grandmaster. Hopefully someday i got the chance of winning my first National Close competition. What a feeling!
